Phở 99 Authentic Vietnamese restaurant in Shoreline

If you are searching for a comforting bowl of Vietnamese noodle soup in Washington, Phở 99 Authentic Vietnamese stands out as a familiar name among locals. Located at 19828 Aurora Ave N, Shoreline, WA 98133, United States, and reachable at +1 206-542-3634, this pho restaurant offers a menu rooted in traditional Vietnamese flavors with a mix of classic and modern touches. From steaming rice noodle soup to refreshing lychee drinks, it brings a slice of Vietnam to the Pacific Northwest.

A closer look at authentic Vietnamese flavors

Vietnamese cuisine is known for balance. At Phở 99 Authentic Vietnamese, this balance comes through in the broth, herbs, and textures. The restaurant focuses on dishes like pho, bun rieu, and vermicelli bowls, each carefully prepared to reflect familiar Vietnamese taste profiles.

The rice noodle soup with rare beef is one of the highlights. The broth is simmered slowly, allowing the flavors to deepen and develop. Thin slices of beef cook gently in the hot broth, creating a tender and aromatic dish. For those who prefer plant-based options, the tofu and vegetable pho offers a lighter yet satisfying alternative.

Another standout is the tomato crab noodle soup. Customers often note the generous chunks of real crab combined with thick noodles and a rich, flavorful broth. This dish delivers a comforting seafood experience that feels both hearty and authentic.

Menu variety that satisfies different cravings

Traditional pho and noodle soups

Pho is the centerpiece of the menu. Guests can choose from multiple variations, including beef, tofu, and BBQ pork noodle soups. Each bowl is served with fresh herbs, bean sprouts, and lime, allowing diners to customize their flavor.

The seafood spicy noodle soup offers a bolder option. It combines heat with savory depth, appealing to those who enjoy a stronger kick in their meal.

Vietnamese street food favorites

Beyond pho, the menu expands into well-loved Vietnamese street dishes. Banh xeo, a crispy Vietnamese pancake, provides a delightful contrast of textures. Fresh rolls and fried rolls are also popular, offering a mix of light and crunchy bites.

The charbroiled pork skewer with vermicelli is another satisfying option. The smoky flavor of grilled pork pairs well with soft noodles and fresh vegetables, creating a balanced and filling meal.

Drinks and refreshing additions

To complement the food, Phở 99 Authentic Vietnamese offers a range of beverages. Lychee water and iced lychee drinks are particularly refreshing, adding a sweet and floral note to the dining experience. Thai tea and jasmine tea are also available, providing classic drink options that pair well with Vietnamese cuisine.

Dining experience and atmosphere

The dining experience at Phở 99 Authentic Vietnamese can vary. Many customers appreciate the straightforward and casual setting, which reflects the simplicity of traditional pho restaurants. The focus here is clearly on the food rather than elaborate decor.

However, some reviews mention that the atmosphere feels minimal. There may be little background music, and service can occasionally seem less attentive. For diners who prioritize ambiance, this is something to keep in mind. For others who simply want a good bowl of pho, the no-frills environment can feel authentic and familiar.

What customers are saying

Customer feedback highlights both strengths and areas for improvement. Many guests enjoy the quality of the dishes, especially the pho and crab noodle soup. The presence of real crab in the bun rieu stands out as a positive detail that adds authenticity.

Others describe the food as consistently decent across different menu items, including spring rolls and vermicelli bowls. The variety ensures that most diners can find something they enjoy.

On the other hand, some reviews point to service challenges. Guests have mentioned that staff can be unhelpful at times, and the overall atmosphere may feel quiet or lacking energy. These factors can influence the overall experience, even when the food meets expectations.

I love this place and I wish the Uncle that works here, all the good things. I've been going for years and he's always there working hard. It's worth braving the parking lot and making an u-turn on 99 to get to pho 99 I only have had three things here: the combo broken rice, the pho, and the bun rieu. The first two dishes are very good but the bun rieu is top tier. This place makes my favorite bun rieu in all of Washington State. The broth is rich, the tofu/pork rib/tomato/noodles/crab well cooked, but the true winner are the crab egg pork patties. Delicous and flavorful, it really elevates the dish.

Great food! I always get their beef pho or pork vermicelli, and the lychee water is so refreshing!

Always delicious pho here, our favorite spot. I don’t eat beef so it’s hard to find places that actually have good non beef broth — this is that place. Highly recommend all the soups we’ve had.

Limited parking shared with other businesses and lines are barely visible. Gets very warm in latter part of day, should open door for ventilation as the windows are single panels and don't actually open. Service was lacking. An older male placed large pho in the middle of table without offering to give to the person who actually ordered it. Being a warmer day, water wasn't offered to be refilled. Never approached again after serving food. This was with us being the only patrons until the last ~10 min of our meal. Pho was ok, nothing particular. Ordered the everything combo. Egg roll vermicelli and pork skewer/egg roll vermicelli had great portions. Not drowned/propped with veggies like other places. Very good flavor in the pork skewers.

I got a vegan pho. It was delicious. Good place to sit and have a good dinner. They had veggie broth which is great for a vegan like me. A little more flavored/salty broth would be great. They charge $2 more for credit card payments which I can totally agree as a small business owner. I paid cash. They could do better with receipts. No receipt given to me, but even for others it was a notebook receipt given. Just good enough parking available for a place right on 99/Aurora. Suggestion to owner: Play some light music, it will add to your ambience. I recommend this place, overall!
